During closed-door talks at the White House on Tuesday, V. Zelensky told the American president about a plan that, according to him, would allow Ukraine to survive another winter under conditions of war with Russia.

For the plan to succeed, the Ukrainian leader indicated that Trump would need to ask a big favor from his ally Musk, with whom the American leader’s relations are no longer as good as before.
The new plan, which had not been previously announced, envisages avoiding the sending of “Patriot” missile interceptors to Ukraine, whose stocks in American reserves have been significantly reduced due to the war in Iran.
Instead, it is proposed that Ukraine expand the use of another American technology – the satellite communication network “Starlink” controlled by Musk.
According to sources, Zelensky asked Trump to obtain Musk’s approval to use “Starlink” to direct drone strikes deep into Russian territory.
What Trump will do
According to the magazine’s interlocutors, Trump told Zelensky that he would consider this request but did not specify whether it would be granted. The US president indicated that he would discuss the matter with Musk.

According to one official, Trump’s final decision will likely largely depend on whether it helps accelerate the end of the war.
If the US president believes that the use of “Starlink” will enable Ukraine to force the Kremlin host Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table, then Trump may approve this idea.
Wanted to meet with Musk
It is also reported that during his visit to the United States, Zelensky wanted to meet with businessman Musk to discuss a plan for strikes on Russian missile launch facilities, but the billionaire rejected the meeting request.

Currently, Musk has only authorized Ukrainians to use “Starlink” within Ukrainian territory, including Crimea and other Russian-occupied lands. Among other things, he has restricted the use of “Starlink” technology in Russia.
In the meeting with Trump, the Ukrainian leader explained that it is necessary to strike smaller and mobile targets, specifically those facilities from which ballistic missiles are launched at Ukrainian cities.
