On Thursday, according to preliminary data published by the country’s statistical office “Destatis,” Germany’s economic growth slowed slightly in the second quarter, but less than expected, considering the impact of the Middle East war.
Compared to the first quarter of the year, Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.2% in the second quarter. This is 0.1 percentage points more than analysts surveyed by the financial platform “FactSet” had forecast. “Destatis” also revised and increased the first quarter growth rate to 0.4%.
