According to them, the owner of the company “Wildberries,” Tatjana Kim – the richest woman in Russia, whose wealth is estimated by “Forbes” at 7.11 billion euros – asked the government for help. According to agency interlocutors, T. Kim is negotiating for assistance for the platform’s sellers, as well as tax breaks that would help “Wildberries” settle with affected entrepreneurs.
The situation of “Wildberries” is difficult, the company itself may need government assistance to continue its operations, a high-ranking source in the Russian e-commerce sector told the “Reuters” agency.
Sources noted that state banks, including VTB, which previously announced an alliance with “Wildberries,” could play a decisive role in saving the company. The bank expressed intentions to acquire 5% of the assets of the “Wildberries & Russ” group, including “VB Bank.”
On Tuesday, VTB bank’s deputy chairman Dmitry Pyanov announced that the bank is ready to consider “various forms of credit support” for “Wildberries” if such a request is submitted.
In turn, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that a decision on assistance to the company has not yet been made.
Destroyed 15% of warehouses
In a week and a half, the Ukrainian armed forces destroyed eight “Wildberries” warehouses, with a total area of about 860 thousand square meters. This accounts for 15.4% of all warehouse space of this trading platform (5.6 million square meters), calculated by the news portal “Viorstka.” The company suffered the greatest loss after the strike in Elektrostal, near Moscow.
In warehouses located only in the Moscow region and Tambov region, which were hit first, goods worth 150–230 billion rubles burned down, according to “Data Insight” estimates. This amount is equivalent to “Wildberries'” annual profit, which last year was 175 billion rubles. At the end of 2025, the company’s debt amounted to about 850 billion rubles.
