„Deutsche Bank“ announced record profit

„Deutsche Bank“ reported that net profit for the three months ending in June reached 1.9 billion euros, significantly exceeding analysts’ expectations. Analysts surveyed by „FactSet“ had forecast a profit of 1.4 billion euros.

„Our record second-quarter results were achieved due to strong growth momentum,“ said Deutsche Bank CEO Christian Sewing.

These results were achieved despite the Frankfurt-based group facing less favorable monetary policy conditions following the peak of the interest rate hike cycle. Although the European Central Bank raised interest rates by 0.25 percentage points last month, bank interest margins are still pressured by the interest rate cut cycle that began in 2024.

Overall, the bank’s total revenues from April to June increased by nine percent compared to the same period last year to 8.48 billion euros, driven by retail banking and outstanding investment banking performance.

The investment banking division’s profit grew by nearly 60 percent compared to the same period last year, driven by revenue growth in financing, trading, and advisory activities.

„Deutsche Bank“ once again confirmed its financial targets for the entire year, related to both revenues and profitability. The group states it continues to successfully pursue its 2026 revenue target of about 33 billion euros.
