“Dear Jūratė and Eimutis Nenartavičius, graduates of mathematics and social pedagogy and social work specialties, our distinguished, dear Alumni. The news of your son Rokas’s tragic fate deeply shocked me personally and the entire teaching community. Please accept my and the entire former university community’s sincere and profound condolences. Today we can philosophize a lot and for a long time about what could have been, but the fact is different. I fully understand you and stand with all those for whom Rokas and your entire family are dear. There is no greater pain and separation in the world than parents burying their children. This is in the human race, this is in nature. Today, as we say goodbye to your son – our Rokas – we remember him, reflect on moments of his life, realizing how fragile human life is.
It is extremely difficult for me to write in the past tense when a person is alive in our hearts. The bright memory of Rokas remains in scientific and sports achievements. A person chooses their own life path. A path that can be a mountain and a valley, thorny and difficult, easy and bright, but it is that person’s path, and after it ends awaits a meeting with the mystery beyond. Your son Rokas Nenartavičius was a good student, an excellent athlete, a winner and prize-winner of Alytus city, Lithuanian, European, and world cups and championships. He achieved great results through hard and diligent work, whose success was determined by your, dear Jūratė and Eimutis, upbringing and the hard work of coaches. All teachers near a student are only help and support; everything depends on the person themselves.
After finishing an active sports career, Rokas chose the path of a coach. His influence, spoken words and thoughts, demonstrated sports movements nurtured more than one athlete.
A tragic car accident, in which he became only a random victim, ended only the existence of earthly life. I believe that Rokas’s earned awards will become museum exhibits and an example for the younger generation, who will speak about who Rokas was to all of us and emulate him.
Jūratė and Eimutis, to you Rokas is a son, to us a distinguished athlete, coach.
I support the idea of our former university’s alumni that in the place where the farewell ceremony will take place, Rokas’s highest sports awards should occupy an honorable place, and next to them his last kimono should be placed as a symbol of what was dear to Rokas. It would be purposeful and beautiful if in the space honoring Rokas’s remains there would be room for the flags of Alytus city and the judo sport branch. After all, we are seeing off a truly distinguished, dear, and beloved athlete. As Rokas is accompanied to the grave, the gongs of Lithuanian churches and the resonances of world temples should sound.
Rokas Nenartavičius shone, shone brightly, but suddenly went out like a star, leaving a bright trace on earth.

It is hard, sad, but time somewhat heals wounds, yet does not fill the void that will remain for a lifetime.
Once again, to our former university alumni Jūratė and Eimutis Nenartavičius, and all relatives, strength to endure this difficult time. We are always with you.
Dear ones,
our former university is not buildings, study programs. The university is not the names of institutions, but a large community. I invite all our alumni, who have become excellent specialists in their fields – teachers, school principals, education administrators, civil servants, diplomats, clergy – to contribute financially, as possible, at this difficult family moment by bringing the remains from Switzerland where the car accident occurred and to support spiritually.
I truly support the idea of colleagues from the Lithuanian Sports University and judo athletes to donate to the family.
