“My firstborn is fourteen. And I understand that with her birthday, a new version of me as a mother is born,” the famous woman began her post, drawing attention to how strongly parenthood changes a person.
According to Indrė, although we are used to thinking that it is the parents’ duty to teach children, the reality is completely different. It is precisely her growing daughter who gives her the most important lessons every day – teaching patience, gratitude, trust, and perhaps the hardest thing, the ability to gradually let go of her child, loving her as strongly as she never knew how before.

The woman confessed that no book prepares you for new stages of motherhood: “I am also experiencing everything for the first time. For the first time, I was a mother of a newborn. For the first time, a mother of a little girl. And now, for the first time, I am a mother of a fourteen-year-old. And no one taught me this stage – I learn it every day.”

On the occasion of the birthday, I. Bareikienė went into memories, comparing what seemed difficult before with what is most precious now. She recalled exhausting sleepless nights when the only dream was a short rest. “And today I catch myself thinking about something completely different – how I want to hug her longer, stronger, more often. Sometimes I even deliberately look for an opportunity to cuddle because I realize that time passes faster than I can feel it,” she wrote sensitively.
