The move, which angered Israel’s ally the US, complicated B. Netanyahu’s travels to countries that are members of the ICC, based in The Hague.
Speaking on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” B. Netanyahu said that K. Khan had brought charges to divert attention from his own alleged crimes.
“He thought: if there is an indictment, I will have a job. The indictment was filed, and he lost his job,” the Israeli prime minister joked.
“He lost his job because he was removed by the vast majority of states who knew he was a fraud,” he said.
K. Khan, 56, was removed from office last month by a decision of the ICC’s main governing body and denies all allegations of misconduct.
However, in a vote at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York on Friday, 82 out of 125 members secretly voted in favor of his dismissal for “serious misconduct and gross dereliction of duty”.

His lawyer stated that he plans to appeal the decision “through all possible legal mechanisms”.
B. Netanyahu also attacked New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who had previously expressed a desire to arrest the Israeli prime minister if he visited the city, but this week admitted he had no such authority.
According to B. Netanyahu, K. Khan’s dismissal shows that Z. Mamdani relied on “fabricated accusations,” while also accusing the mayor, who is Muslim, of “inciting hatred” against Jews.
B. Netanyahu indicated his intention to attend the UN General Assembly in New York in September.
“I intend to come and tell the truth, to speak for Israel and for the Israeli-American alliance from the United Nations rostrum,” he said.
