“Perhaps it would be worth freezing this conflict and returning to the Istanbul formula 2.0, because significant results were achieved there. And then – of course, with guarantees from major powers, including Russia – to move forward,” the President of Kazakhstan stated.
He added that the nature of Russia’s war against Ukraine “is not entirely clear to many, including us.”
“Let’s say there was a conflict, including a frozen conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, then the essence of this conflict, its origins, were completely clear to us. They reached the very depths of history. However, in this case, it is very difficult to understand,” the President of Kazakhstan stated.

He said he decided to speak out because he had received “many signals” about Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“I will not hide that I receive many signals. I informed you about them by phone. From Europe, from the United States (we receive – ed.) signals related to the current situation of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
