The meeting took place less than three weeks after US President Donald Trump promised to grant Ukraine a license to produce “Patriot”. This promise marks a significant shift, with Trump recently adopting a more positive tone towards Zelensky.
Another sign that Ukraine is changing opinions in Washington is that on Thursday, American right-wing influencer and loyal Trump ally Laura Loomer met with Zelensky in Kyiv. After years of downplaying Russia’s invasion, she now condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin for missile attacks against Ukraine.
