Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that 571 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight.
This is one of the largest swarms of drones launched by Kyiv, intensifying long-range strikes.
According to the Russian ministry, the drones targeted annexed Crimea and a dozen Russian regions. Among them were the surroundings of St. Petersburg, where a Wildberries warehouse was hit.
The strike caused a fire in the warehouse, and smoke spread throughout St. Petersburg, according to local media reports and images circulated on social media.

Ukrainian drones hit Wildberries warehouses for the third time in the past six days.
Wildberries reported that two of its logistics facilities in St. Petersburg and one facility in Simferopol, in Moscow-annexed Crimea, were hit on Friday.
“Rapid evacuation was carried out in all these warehouses (…); according to preliminary data, there are no casualties,” Wildberries CEO Tatyana Kim announced on social media.
Alexander Drozdenko, governor of the Leningrad region, where St. Petersburg is located, said that three people were injured in the attack, during which at least 59 drones were launched at St. Petersburg.
