The founders will remain actively involved in the company’s operations and are expected to contribute to its development, including at the board level. The sale was agreed upon just eight months after Resource Partners’ initial investment. This marks a highly successful exit from the investment for the fund, ensuring a faster return for its investors. The transaction was signed on May 20 and will become effective upon the fulfillment of customary closing conditions and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
Founded in 2012, iaBilet has become one of the most recognized ticket distribution platforms in Romania. The platform provides ticket distribution services for various entertainment events across the country.
Resource Partners acquired a controlling stake in the company in September 2025. During the investment period, iaBilet demonstrated strong commercial and operational growth – several of Romania’s largest festivals joined the platform, and a wide range of new products and services were introduced to customers and organizers.
This acquisition is part of the PLG Group’s strategy to further strengthen its technological and ticketing competencies in the region and accelerate international expansion. According to Sven Nuutmann, founder and chairman of the PLG Group, the company continues to focus on markets where it sees long-term growth potential and opportunities to sustainably expand its services.
“We continue to see significant long-term growth potential across the Central and Eastern European ticketing market. Average ticket prices in the region today are still about half of those in Western and Southern Europe. The live events industry continues to evolve with inflation trends and improving visitor experience,” says S. Nuutmann.
He adds that PLG will continue to invest in AI-powered solutions and the development of shared technological competencies across the group, aiming to offer advanced tools to both event organizers and ticket buyers.
Upon completion of the transaction and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, the PLG Group plans to assess how Romanian operations could be further integrated, strengthening operational and technological cooperation around the iaBilet platform. The current key iaBilet executives – CEO Emil Ionescu, COO Razvan Manta, and CTO Daniel Cute-Petric – will continue their work within the PLG Group and contribute to the company’s next growth phase.
