In the women’s epee event, Olivija Mašalo won two out of six possible victories in the pool stage and advanced to the knockout rounds with a ranking of 103, according to the Lithuanian Fencing Federation.

The fight for a place among the top 128 was not successful – O. Mašalo lost 4:15 to the titled Peruvian athlete M.L. Doig-Calderon, who participated twice in the Olympic Games. In the final standings, the Lithuanian took 136th place among 184 participants.
In the men’s epee event, Makaras Lozenko finished the pool stage with two victories out of six possible.
He advanced to the knockout rounds from 128th place in the rankings. After a fierce fight, the Lithuanian lost 12:15 to the Kyrgyz athlete I. Bakytbek-Uulu and finished 168th among 225 participants in the final standings.
The championship did not go well for Mindaugas Tamošiūnas. The Lithuanian ranking leader won one victory in the pool stage, which was not enough to advance to the knockout rounds. In the final standings, he took 187th place.
After the season ends, Lithuanian fencers will return to the pistes in September, when the new season’s satellite competitions begin.
