One of the city’s greatest highlights is the almost completely preserved 14th-century city wall surrounding the old town. Visitors can walk along part of it and enjoy the surrounding views. An even more impressive panorama opens up from the city hall tower.

In the main market square stand Renaissance buildings, cozy cafes, and shops where you can stop for a coffee and enjoy the Bavarian atmosphere.
History enthusiasts are recommended to visit the Medieval Crime Museum, which is dedicated to medieval law, crimes, and punishments. However, some exhibits may be somewhat disturbing for more sensitive visitors or children.
For those who want to experience the city differently, an evening “Night Watchman Tour” is offered, where a costumed guide leads through narrow streets and tells city legends and stories.
In winter, the city is famous for Christmas markets, and in summer visitors are attracted by the castle gardens – green lawns, flower beds, and shade-giving trees.

Upon arrival, it is worth trying the local delicacy – Schneeballen (“snowballs”). This is a dessert made from strips of dough, fried in oil, and flavored with powdered sugar, chocolate, or nuts.
Since the city is located in Bavaria – a region famous for beer and pretzels, there is no shortage of traditional breweries and beer gardens around.
The easiest way to get to Tauber Rothenburg is via Nuremberg Airport – the nearest major airport. From there, the town can be reached by train, bus, or car.
