According to pre-trial investigation data, the accused recidivist S. A., while in Panevėžys prison, organized criminal activity via SMS messages and calls with another accused E. A., who is also recognized as a recidivist serving a prison sentence in Šiauliai prison.

The accused gave instructions to A. B. and I. S., who were at large, and agreed that A. B. would meet I. S. and hand over a package containing a large quantity of narcotic substance – carfentanil. I. S. was supposed to transport the mentioned package to the Kaunas Palace of the Kaunas District Court and hand it over to S. A. before the court hearing. I. S. received narcotic substance – carfentanil – as a reward for the service, but this substance was found and seized by officers of the Prison Service’s Criminal Intelligence.

Individuals who organized this crime face imprisonment for up to 10 years.

The criminal case has been referred to the Šiauliai District Court for consideration.
