“36 years of independence. And the country still tolerates the fact that a multitude of incomes are DECLARED, not RECORDED. That one can buy their way out with (symbolic) fixed sums.

Soon after the economist’s post, a sharp discussion erupted, in which Marijonas Mikutavičius also participated.
“I refuse to be called an Animal Farm. With the amount of taxes I pay without tricks, it offends me. I believe that the real Animal Farm is about a third of those fifty thousand bureaucrats whose only value of existence is the pleasure they derive from entangling others with excessive rules. Never having felt the freedom of action and unable to appreciate time, of which they always have too much, they completely fail to understand the lives of those who help them earn their salaries,” Marijonas wrote in the comments section.

Seeing the artist’s indignation, R. Kuodis hastened to explain that his criticism was not directed at taxpayers like Marijonas.
“So you’re not freelancing in construction or painting nails,” R. Kuodis replied to him.
However, M. Mikutavičius did not give up: “Excuse me, I don’t quite grasp your point. I also have part-time (part-time – ed. note) individual activity.”
R. Kuodis concluded the discussion by further clarifying his position.
“The big AF is business certificates and so on. And declaring income ‘as much as you want’,” the economist stated.
