“Russia is taking an increasingly weaker position on the battlefield in its war against Ukraine, but it continues to pursue its goals through brutal drone and missile attacks. The growing nervousness of (Vladimir) Putin, rising due to lack of success, is dangerous as it increases the likelihood of serious incidents,” the minister said.

“The Russian drone strike on a multi-apartment residential building in Romania last night is a stark reminder that Russian aggression is not limited to the borders of Ukraine but also directly threatens NATO allies,” said M. Tsahkna.
He emphasized that Estonia maintains close ties with Romania and other allies following this incident.
“It is clear that the deterrence and defense posture of NATO allies, especially air defense, must be strengthened,” noted the foreign minister.
According to M. Tsahkna, it is also necessary to continue supporting Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia to end the war.
“To achieve this goal, a strong 21st European Union sanctions package must be adopted, including a complete ban on providing maritime services to ships carrying Russian oil and oil products,” he said.
