Turkish Airlines plane from Tallinn is suspected to have flown through Russian airspace

One passenger claimed to have noticed the route change on a flight tracking app and contacted the flight attendants. After consulting with the pilots, the passenger was informed that the flight over the Kaliningrad region was a conscious decision by the crew, as they considered this route to be the most optimal.

Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS, the company responsible for air traffic control in Estonia, stated that according to the approved flight plan, the route should have passed through Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
