The 31-year-old basketball player from Panevėžys represented the Marijampolė “Sūduva-Mantinga” team last season and became the champion of the second strongest Lithuanian Basketball League and the “S. Darius and S. Girėnas” Cup. In the NKL championship, Ž. Šimonis spent almost 28 minutes on the court and averaged 7.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 9.3 efficiency points.

In the Cup games, the basketball player who can play as a shooting guard and small forward averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 10 efficiency points.
Ž. Šimonis spent most of his career in the second Lithuanian Basketball League. He represented the teams of Palanga, Joniškis, and Marijampolė. The 194 cm tall player has also played in Germany and Italy.
The Panevėžys native has also represented “Lietkabelis.” Ž. Šimonis played for the Aukštaitija capital’s team for two seasons and appeared in 24 games from 2012 to 2014.
