Zelenskys became hostages of their decision: tension between Fedorov and Syrsky caused an earthquake

At least 10 thousand people took to protests in Ukrainian cities. Most of them stood with posters and chanted “bring back Fedorov” and “remove Syrskyi”. It seems that these protests boiled down to a confrontation between two personalities – O. Syrskyi and M. Fedorov. As noted by the news portal “Ukrainska Pravda”, last year’s protest, called the “Cardboard Maidan”, which was aimed at supporting Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, had strong backing – allies in Europe.

However, the current protest cannot rely on pressure from abroad, so the protesters found themselves in confrontation with the authorities. It is assumed that the result of the protests will determine what influence the voices from the street will have on decisions made within the walls of Bankova Street.

Volodymyr Zelensky this week got involved in the conflict between the popular country’s defense minister M. Fedorov and the armed forces commander Oleksandr Syrskyi. He chose the latter and became a hostage of his decision.
