The website “Down Detector,” which records internet site disruptions, shows a sharp increase in the number of users reporting difficulties using the social networks “Facebook” and “Instagram.”

It is reported that users of both platforms trying to log in via computer are shown an error message.
The message says: “Account temporarily unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We hope this problem will be resolved quickly. Please try again in a few minutes.”
“Down Detector” registered over 3000 complaints on Sunday, and many other users shared their grievances on other disruption-recording websites.
Reports of disruptions are pouring in from dozens of countries worldwide. On the portal “Downforeveryoneorjustme,” users from Australia, Indonesia, the United States, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Ghana, the United Kingdom, India, Estonia, and other countries reported issues.
Some commenters note that they can use social networks on their phones, but both platforms are inaccessible via their computers.

Other users reported difficulties logging into their “Facebook” accounts or using the platform’s main features.
Users report problems such as unsuccessful login attempts both through the app and the website itself, as well as slow or completely non-functioning news feed updates.
Some users also encountered difficulties trying to upload photos and videos or sending messages via the “Messenger” chat app.
Many users experiencing disruptions switched to alternative social media platforms, including “X,” to report issues and share their experiences.
The company “Meta,” which owns “Facebook,” has not yet issued an official statement explaining the cause of the technical disruption or indicating a timeline for full service restoration.
