VSAT officers determined that the 25-year-old Egyptian had entered Lithuania illegally, i.e., without a valid passport with a visa or a temporary residence permit in one of the EU countries.

The bus driver stated that this passenger boarded unnoticed at the Riga bus station because the bus had technical problems and was delayed as a result.

The border guards did not allow the Egyptian citizen to continue traveling, disembarked him from the bus, detained him, and brought him to the Šiauliai border guard station. Later, he was handed over to the officers of the VSAT Foreigners Registration Center (URC) in Pabradė.
