“The most important priority today is to reduce the accumulated waste volumes as quickly as possible and ensure that their management does not exceed existing capacities. When waste volumes exceed allowable limits, the waste management system’s load and the risk of environmental pollution increase,” said acting AAD head Eglė Paužuolienė in a statement.
