A club that has never won in UEFA tournaments did not do so in its third year of participation either.
The country’s vice-champions suffered a painful 0:3 (0:2) defeat on Thursday in Estonia against Paidė’s “Linnameeskond” eleven and ended their appearance in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
The opponents’ two goals were scored by legionnaires from Gambia – Modou Pa Sohna (17 min.) and Abdourahman Badamosi (42 min.) – with one added by Estonian Kristofer Piht (69 min.).
A week ago, the teams had drawn 1:1 in Raudondvaris.
Paidė’s team finished fourth in last year’s Estonian championship. “Linnameeskond” also holds 4th place in this year’s Estonian football championship.

“Hegelmann” earned the right to represent Lithuania in Europe by finishing second in last year’s national championship. However, this year “Hegelmann”‘s budget has significantly shrunk, and the Kaunas district team currently ranks only 7th in the Toplyga.
This was the third “Hegelmann” campaign in Europe, ending after meeting the first opponent. However, this year they managed to score their first goal.
As a consolation prize, the “Hegelmann” team will also receive a UEFA bonus amounting to 325 thousand euros.
