“Yesterday I had a normal conversation with the president, he offered me to become an advisor or find some other way to stay in the team. I refused the advisor position. I never aimed to become a minister, stay a minister, or look for a position for myself,” he stated.
M. Fedorov added that he cannot be accused of engaging in political activity, corruption, or “creating any schemes.”
“For seven years I have been carrying out reforms together with the president and was in the country’s reform ‘hot spots’ where I was sent. But today the question is not about me. Today the question is about all of us. We either close our eyes and say: okay, let everything stay as it was. Or we say: stop, Ukrainians really know how to fight,” the minister noted, emphasizing the need to “change the attitude and tell the truth.”
M. Fedorov noted that “the conversation went normally, but, let’s say, the decision was probably already made or will be made.”
During the press conference, the minister also stated that Ukraine needs to replace the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in order to “asymmetrically defeat the enemy.”
M. Fedorov confirmed the conflict with the Commander-in-Chief, stating that O. Syrskyi blocked all his initiatives and was not ready to discuss problems, but “ready to create intrigues.”
