The Vilnius–Klaipėda–Vilnius route is one of the most popular, so we want to offer passengers more opportunities to travel flexibly. Dynamic pricing will allow passengers planning their trips in advance to purchase tickets at more favorable prices, while also helping to distribute passenger flows more efficiently,” says Kristina Meidė, head of „LTG Link“.
Dynamic pricing is a pricing model where ticket prices vary depending on the number of seats sold, train occupancy, time until departure, day of the week, train departure time, or seasonality. The earlier the trip is planned, the higher the chance to buy a ticket at a lower price – it can be up to 40% cheaper than the regular price.
For example, the current regular price of a 3rd class ticket on the Vilnius–Klaipėda–Vilnius route is 14.70 Eur. When purchasing a ticket in advance, the lowest price can be 8.82 Eur. Dynamic pricing applies to tickets of all classes.

These pricing principles are widely used in aviation, where airplane ticket prices constantly change as the flight date approaches. Some foreign railway carriers also apply such principles, for example, in Sweden.
Currently, dynamic pricing is already applied on local routes Vilnius–Kaunas–Vilnius, Kaunas–Marijampolė–Kaunas, Kaunas–Šiauliai–Kaunas, Vilnius–Trakai–Vilnius, Vilnius–Varėna (Marcinkonys)–Vilnius, Vilnius–Turmantas–Vilnius, and Kaunas–Kybartai–Kaunas. On international routes, tickets can be purchased at more favorable prices when traveling to Riga, Warsaw, Krakow, Szczecin.
