As the Government’s oath-taking dragged on, some members, including the chairman K. Vilkauskas himself, were late; conservative Vytautas Juozapaitis demanded to call the meeting again at a different time since the scheduled meeting time had already passed.

The only item planned for the meeting was the dismissal of K. Vilkauskas from the chairman position and the appointment of former culture minister Vaida Aleknavičienė in his place.

After K. Vilkauskas proposed to approve the agenda and later vote on whether it was legitimate, V. Juozapaitis’s colleague Vytautas Kernagis was again outraged.

“How can we vote on a meeting whose time has already passed? We have now gathered whenever and are voting on a meeting that has already taken place,” V. Kernagis wondered paradoxically.
