Robertas Kaunas, who was sworn in on Tuesday in the Seimas and continues his duties as Minister of National Defence, thanks V. Zumerienė in a released statement “for responsible and exemplary work in strengthening the country’s defense industry and ensuring the continuity of critical projects.”

“The contracts signed, which the deputy minister worked on, for additional air defense and rocket artillery systems, ammunition, and modern weapons will significantly strengthen the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the country’s defense capability. Industrial cooperation and close relations established with allies abroad will bring tangible benefits to the country,” he is quoted as saying.
V. Zumerienė was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defence last December; she coordinated the areas of procurement for the national defense system, defense, and security industry development.

Karolis Aleksa and Bronius Bieliauskas remain as deputy ministers, and the ministry’s chancellor Dainius Ivoškis will also continue his work.
