„The court received a statement from the prosecutor (European Public Prosecutor’s Office delegated prosecutor Darius Karčinskas – BNS) regarding the extension of the preventive measure – detention – requested for the suspect Šarūnas Stepukonis. The pre-trial investigation judge decided to grant the prosecutor’s request and extended the preventive measure – detention – for the suspect for a period of 2.5 months, counting this term from July 16 to September 1,“ Giedrius Janonis told BNS.

According to him, the decision can be appealed to the Vilnius Regional Court within 20 days.
