At about 14:45 in the village of Daukniškiai, firefighters pulled a body of a man born in 1945 from the river, about five meters from the shore and about 1.3 meters deep.
The drowned man’s body was handed over to police officers and paramedics, who confirmed the death.

No external signs of violence were observed during the initial examination of the body.
The police have launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of death.
