The new “Hennessey Blackbird” will make its public debut in August at the classic car show “The Quail” in California.

The model name was chosen in honor of the legendary reconnaissance aircraft “Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.” It is like a simpler and more “analog” version of the famous “Hennessey Venom F5.”
Despite the classic concept, the car is built using the latest technologies. The body is made of carbon fiber, weighing only 1360 kg. A lot of attention is given to aerodynamics – instead of a large rear wing, a small spoiler is installed, two fin-like elements reminiscent of an aircraft, and special air channels that improve downforce. The front lights and exhaust tips are designed in a unified style.
The interior has a classic atmosphere – there are no screens. The driver sees only analog instruments and traditional switches. A smartphone can be connected for navigation if needed. The interior uses leather, aluminum, and carbon fiber, and the manufacturer promises a surprisingly spacious trunk.

The car is powered by a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, developed by Ilmor, a company that produces engines for Formula 1 and IndyCar racing cars. Its power reaches about 800–850 hp.
The “Hennessey Blackbird” will be offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission. It accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and the top speed is 354 km/h. Additionally, the supercar is equipped with adaptive shock absorbers that provide greater comfort both in the city and at high speeds.
Only 71 units of this model will be produced. The price of one car will be about 2.5 million US dollars.
