Latvian border guards turned back 25 migrants on Sunday, while one attempt to illegally enter the country was recorded at the Polish border on Saturday.
This year, more than 1,400 illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1,600 attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before that, the number was 1,002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented 26,100 foreigners from entering the country illegally.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
