Olga Gončarova, head of the National Tourism Promotion Agency VšĮ “Keliauk Lietuvoje”, emphasizes that the third edition of “MICHELIN Guide Lithuania” crowns a very active and successful stage of Lithuanian gastronomy.
“This year is exceptional for Lithuanian gastronomy. Recently, experts from the influential European magazine “Falstaff” highly praised our country’s culinary potential, and our team of chefs participated for the first time in history among the elite of world culinary arts in the prestigious “Bocuse d’Or” competition. The recent “Baltic Gastro Summit” also proved once again that Lithuania is becoming an important platform for discussions about future restaurants and the entire hospitality sector. Well, the third “Michelin” guide is the culmination of the consistent work of the entire community,” states O. Gončarova.
She notes that studies show that as many as six out of ten travelers are inclined to extend their stay in a country if it has “Michelin”-rated places, so today’s received evaluations are a powerful tool that allows us to loudly and confidently tell the world about Lithuania’s unique taste and the hospitality culture being created.
This year’s “MICHELIN Guide Lithuania” presentation will be crowned by a solemn evening in the new “Saulės salė” at Vilnius railway station. The event “Exclusive Celebration: Welcoming the Third Selection” will bring together the country’s best chefs, restaurant owners, food critics, and foreign guests.
