In a lively match, both teams created chances, and “Transinvest” was hindered by a forced substitution – already in the 18th minute, central defender Dominykas Barauskas had to leave the field due to injury.
Despite that, in the 41st minute a goal was scored against “Žalgiris”. Approaching the penalty area from the right flank, “Transinvest” leader Xabi Auzmendi powerfully sent the ball into the near corner of the goal. This was the 11th goal by the Basque player this season, allowing him to rise to the top of the Top League’s top scorers list.
In the 50th minute, the representatives of Vilnius district dealt another blow to their opponents. After a pass from Yehor Glushachyov from the left flank, Stefan Milošević skillfully controlled the ball, slipping it past the opponent’s defender Grigore Turda, and scored the second goal.
Already in the 55th minute, the ball flew into the “Žalgiris” goal net for the third time. After a pass from X. Auzmendi from the left flank, Mykola Musolitin outran all defenders and scored past the opposing goalkeeper Vincentas Šarkauskas for the third time.

After this victory, “Transinvest” has 45 points and rose to 3rd place in the Top League standings. Meanwhile, “Žalgiris,” with 44 points in their account, dropped to 4th position.
In the Lithuanian championship, the leading teams Marijampolė’s “Sūduva” (49 points) and “Kauno Žalgiris” (48) will play their matches on Sunday.
