He spoke about it on Wednesday on his social networks.

The European media called me a Trojan horse, suspecting that I directly contributed to this victory. Over the past two weeks, there have been endless speculations and talks about what role I played – if I played any at all – in Bulgaria’s victory at Eurovision in Vienna.

To finally put all the dots on the “i”, I decided to tell how Bulgaria’s victory at Eurovision 2026 was created and won.

More details in the post. I no longer want to remain silent and I do not intend to,” F. Kirkorov wrote sharing the post.

Further in the post, he explained that after a long silence he decided to dispel all rumors and talks.

“For six years Bulgaria did not participate in Eurovision because the country’s financial situation was such that the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) simply could not afford to pay the participation fee required by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organizes Eurovision.

Last year I met with the then BNT general director Emil Koshlukov. This acquaintance happened thanks to my longtime friends – the legendary Bulgarian duo Riton (Katya Mihailova and Zdravko Zhelyazkov). They played a special role in my life: it was their support that made my first songs hits.

And during one of our conversations, the topic of Eurovision came up. Emil regretted that Bulgaria had to withdraw from the contest due to financial difficulties. At that time, I said I would try to find a solution. And I succeeded.

I brought an investor to BNT who agreed to finance Bulgaria’s return to Eurovision 2026. Thus, Bulgaria re-entered the competitive fight and returned to the stage with a bang.

Of course, the greatest credit goes to DARA. She did everything to make this return not only successful but triumphant. Such a bright, charismatic, and strong performer has not been seen at Eurovision for a long time.

I am also proud that my team, founded 22 years ago, contributed to this success. Producer Ilias Kokotos, composer Dimitris Kontopoulos, who created the song “Bangaranga,” and the whole team worked to make this dream a reality.

Over the years, the “Dream Team” has been involved with the brightest Eurovision performances – Sergey Lazarev, Ani Lorak, the Tolmachevy sisters, Natasha Gordienko, Dmitry Koldun, the group Doredos, and other performers. Therefore, this victory is special to me.

I did not talk about this for a long time. But today I decided to dispel all talks and rumors.

Yes, I am convinced that without me, my friends, Emil Koshlukov, and the investor whose name is not disclosed for obvious reasons, this story would not have happened. Bulgaria would not have returned so impressively and would not be celebrating its victory today.

Now the whole country is waiting for the next Eurovision, which will be held in Bulgaria. It is still unclear which city will host the contest – Varna, Burgas, or Sofia. Personally, it would be very symbolic for me if the contest took place in Varna – the city where my childhood passed.

Bulgaria is my father’s homeland. And today, on his birthday, I decided to tell this story.

All this I did in his memory.

Dad, you can be proud of me. You dreamed that Bulgaria would one day win Eurovision. This dream has come true.

Congratulations to DARA, Bulgaria, BNT, and my “Dream Team” on this historic victory.

And today I can only say one thing to myself – thank you. For not giving up and doing everything I believed in.

Happy birthday, Dad. Your dream has come true,” he wrote confirming his contribution to Bulgaria’s success at Eurovision.
