“NATO fighters conducting the air policing mission were deployed to check the object. They determined that the radar marks were a flock of birds,” the NKVC told journalists.
According to NKVC, the yellow air threat lasted about 38 minutes in total – from 12:59 to 13:37. During that time, air traffic at Vilnius airport was suspended.

“In the initial radar information, the marks of birds and drones can be similar, so an additional check was carried out to accurately determine the nature of the object,” NKVC stated.
The yellow alert signal means that residents are invited to remain calm and identify a safe place.
