The journey in Budapest for S. Križanauskaitė and R. Grudzinskaitė began in the qualifiers, where they defeated the teams from Hungary and France.
In the main tournament’s Group B semifinals, they beat the Hungarian Eszter and Zsofi Vasvari 2:0 (21:14, 21:19), and in the final, they proved superiority against the Swedish Seima Robinson and Sanna Madestam 2:0 (21:16, 21:18). This opened the door straight to the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, the Lithuanian beach volleyball players left no chance for the Slovenians Živa Javornik and Maja Marolt, winning 2:0 (21:14, 21:18).

The winning streak of the Lithuanians was stopped by the Norwegians Nina Pavlova and Sunniva Helland-Hansen, who won 2:0 (21:16, 21:14) in the semifinals. However, this did not break the Lithuanian athletes, who soon in the battle for third place defeated the Danes Clara Windeleff and Astrid Mellmolle 2:0 (21:19, 21:13) and won bronze medals.
Another Lithuanian pair, Danielė Kvedaraitė and Jekaterina Saulė, took ninth place. The Lithuanians won the group semifinal but lost in the final 1:2 (21:11, 17:21, 11:15) to N. Pavlova and S. Helland-Hansen.
In the first round of the knockout stage, the Lithuanians lost 0:2 (18:21, 19:21) to Ž. Javornik and M. Marolt.
