The Croatian Football Federation announced that the national team captain intends to continue representing the national team in the upcoming Nations League matches.

L.Modrić made his national team debut in March 2006. Since then, the midfielder has worn the national team jersey in 202 matches.
It was expected that after this summer’s World Cup he would retire from the national team. Zlatko Dalić’s trainees were eliminated in the round of 16, where they lost to Portugal.
Currently representing AC Milan, L.Modrić won the Golden Ball at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He then helped Croatia reach the final, where they lost to France.

After four years in Qatar, L.Modrić and the national team secured third place.
Croatia’s next matches in the Nations League will be on September 26 away against the Czech Republic, and on September 29 against Spain.
On October 3, the Croats will host England at home, and the return match at Wembley Stadium will take place on November 12.
