In the main fight of the evening under kickboxing rules, in the weight category up to 94 kg, Sergejus Maslobojevas (4-0, UTMA) and Dominykas Dirkstys (13-2, UTMA) will face each other.
“Without a doubt – this is the biggest fight in Lithuanian history. We ourselves see how long this duel has been growing, how its creation was nurtured. I believe that at this moment this meeting is the most interesting to people and arouses the greatest interest in the country’s history,” said UTMA head Viktoras Gecas.

We remind you that a rehydration clause was included in the contract. This is a special rule applied in combat sports, which means that a fighter who cuts weight to the allowed weight category limit is allowed to rehydrate the body before the fight only up to a certain limit.
During the medical weigh-ins held the day before the duel, fighters must weigh up to 94 kg, but S. Maslobojevas will have to weigh again – on September 26 there will be a repeated weigh-in, during which S. Maslobojevas cannot be heavier than 100 kg.
Eimantas Stanionis returns
The tournament’s “co-main” fight will mark Eimantas Stanionis’s return to the professional ring and Lithuania after a year-long break.
E. Stanionis (16-1, professional boxing) will meet the 24-year-old talented South African boxer Kaine Fourie (13-2-2, professional boxing) in Kaunas.
This will be a professional 10-round boxing match, which will take place in the weight category up to 150 pounds (up to 68.08 kg).

“This time we looked for an opponent not only by ranking but also by his style. We definitely wanted a fighter who would want to ‘exchange blows.’ In the fight with Jabulani, we saw that he was more of a punch-absorbing, counterattacking fighter. Now we were looking for a brawler who would want contact himself. It seems we found such a one – we will see how he looks in the ring. We really expect a great fight,” commented UTMA head V. Gecas.

Another highlight will be the special tournament quarterfinal fights for the 81 kg UTMA kickboxing champion belt and a 50,000 euro prize.
“We chose the quarterfinal format because we have a lot of fighters in the 81 kg category. The quarterfinals will definitely not be the end. We want as many fights as possible to take place during this tournament, for fighters to be ranked and to continue to determine who is the best in this category.
We want to encourage young people and other fighters to understand that prizes of this size, like 50,000 euros, are possible in this tournament. We will continue to do this and develop it in the future. It is very nice to see all these motivated people; I myself am looking forward to seeing this tournament, who will be the champion and who will be number one in the 81 kg category ranking,” said V. Gecas.
The 81 kg quarterfinal fights will begin at the UTMA 19 tournament from the quarterfinal matches. The semifinals will take place at UTMA 20 on October 24 at “Arena Vilnius,” and the grand tournament final will be held at UTMA 21 – on November 28 at the Kaunas “Žalgiris” arena.
