First details about the new „Range Rover GT“ have already been revealed: electric drive, SUV off-road capability, and features typical of cars designed for long and fast journeys. What will the latest „Range Rover“ model look like?
„Range Rover GT“ will become the fifth member of the „Range Rover“ family alongside the „Range Rover“, „Range Rover Sport“, „Range Rover Velar“, and „Range Rover Evoque“. It is a completely new model where the character typical of GT cars is complemented by features you would not expect from this type of vehicle.
GT interpretation according to „Range Rover”
In the automotive world, GT, or „Gran Turismo” (Italian for great journey) or the English „Grand Touring“ name, was originally given to models designed for long-distance racing. Later, historically, they took a place among powerful, sporty, and luxurious cars – dynamic enough to be enjoyable to drive, and at the same time comfortable enough to effortlessly cover long distances. It is this classic GT philosophy that „Range Rover“ now interprets in its own way.
According to „Range Rover“ head Martin Limpert, when creating the new model, they sought a way to combine the characteristics of GT cars with electric drive and the „Range Rover“ character.
„In recent years, we have consistently worked by delving into the very foundations of the GT concept and aimed to interpret them through the prism of „Range Rover“, maintaining the refinement typical of this car. We have achieved a result – we have created probably the most car-like „Range Rover“ to date, while preserving the capabilities typical of an SUV,” says M. Limpert.
The first electric „Range Rover“ on the EMA platform
Such a powerful electric model, according to the manufacturers, was made possible by the new electrified EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) platform. The new „Range Rover GT“ will be the first fully electric „Range Rover“ built using this new architecture.
Initially, a fully electric GT model version will appear on the market, later supplemented by a hybrid drive version. And speaking of EMA, it will complement the existing engine options so that customers have more alternatives to choose from according to their needs.

A look inside the cabin
Along with the announcement of the new model, „Range Rover“ reveals details of the GT interior.
Its interior continues the exterior design philosophy – refined minimalism based on clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and consistently integrated technologies.
Instead of a traditional instrument panel, the driver is greeted by a new generation screen solution – a central screen and a separate driver screen. A hidden air ventilation system integrated across the entire width of the front panel maintains one of the most recognizable „Range Rover“ design elements, and the instrument panel is covered by a seamless woven textile surface, under which the sound system speakers are also hidden.
Every solution here serves one purpose – to create a calm environment protected from external noise, where attention is focused on the travel experience. Therefore, much importance was given to reducing visual and acoustic noise when creating this car, and the driver will be able to control more car functions by voice than ever before. Plenty of space is provided for rear passengers – there will be more legroom here than in many cars of this class.
Technologically the most advanced
Currently, prototypes are completing the final testing phase in various parts of the world. The design of the special camouflage materials covering them is created based on the terrain of the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom. The „Range Rover“ design and engineering departments are located there.
The pattern of golden lines emphasizes the coupe-like proportions of the car and symbolizes the journey, while digital motifs reflect advanced technologies that, according to the manufacturer, will make the new GT the most technologically advanced „Range Rover“ ever created.
More information about the new „Range Rover GT“ will be revealed by the manufacturer later this year.
