The prosecutor of the Šiauliai District Prosecutor’s Office has drawn up an indictment and submitted a criminal case to the court, in which G. G., a resident of Mažeikiai city, is accused of illegal possession of a very large quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances, and A. B., a resident of Mažeikiai district, is accused of illegal possession of narcotic substances without the intent to distribute them.
According to the pre-trial investigation data, in December 2024, the accused G. G. illegally acquired and transported by car in Mažeikiai city a very large quantity of narcotic substance – about 3.5 kg of cannabis (aerial parts) and on the same day illegally transferred part of it, about 900 g, to another accused A. B., thereby distributing this large quantity of narcotic substance.
More than 3 g of pure psychotropic substance – 2-MMC (2-methylmethcathinone), 7 g of narcotic substance – cocaine, and about 2.7 kg of cannabis were found.
On the same day, when police officers stopped the car driven by G. G. and conducted a search, more than 3 g of pure psychotropic substance – 2-MMC (2-methylmethcathinone), 7 g of narcotic substance – cocaine, and about 2.7 kg of narcotic substance – cannabis (aerial parts) were found. A search of the accused’s home revealed even more narcotic and psychotropic substances – about 168 g of cannabis (aerial parts) and more than 30 g of 2-MMC.
Another person, A. B., is accused of acquiring a large quantity, about 900 g of narcotic substances – cannabis (aerial parts) from G. G.

After a couple of months, he was stopped by police officers while illegally transporting 0.6 g of narcotic substance – cocaine. A search of the accused’s home found a large quantity of illegally held narcotic substances – more than 25 g of cocaine and 259 g of cannabis (aerial parts).
G. G. is charged with illegal possession of a very large quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances under Article 260, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – CC). Such a criminal act is punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen years.
A. B. is accused of illegal possession of narcotic substances without the intent to distribute under Article 259, Part 1 of the CC. For such a criminal act, a person may be punished by community service or a fine, or restriction of liberty, or arrest, or imprisonment for up to two years.
The pre-trial investigation was organized and led by Egidijus Kerys, prosecutor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of the Šiauliai District Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation was conducted by officers of the Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Police of the Telšiai County Chief Police Commissariat.

The criminal case has been submitted for trial to the Šiauliai District Court.
