“An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, during which it will be determined whether a person was actually hit or not,” said Agnė Valiulytė, a representative of the Šiauliai County Police, to “Žinios”.
According to her, the train that possibly hit the person did not stop at the scene of the incident. The police received the report about the incident from the Pakruojis railway station attendant.
According to the Lithuanian Railways group (LTG), the person was dangerously sitting on the embankment next to the tracks and injured himself by falling.

“LTG conducted an independent analysis of the incident, reviewed camera footage, and the footage showed that the train did not hit the person,” said Aleksandras Zubriakovas, LTG Corporate Affairs Director, to “Žinios”.
According to Tomas Bagdon, a representative of the Emergency Medical Service, an unconscious person with a head injury was found near the tracks and was resuscitated.
