He returned to the team he had already coached from 2010 to 2013.
At that time, under the Portuguese’s leadership, Real became Spanish champions once, won the national cup and the super cup.
Now J. Mourinho aims to repeat or even improve these achievements. To do this, he has taken strict measures.
As reported by AS journalist Jose Felix Diaz, since Jose Mourinho took over the team, discipline has become one of the most important aspects of training.
The strategist believes that a strong work culture must prevail in the team. This is exactly what he hopes to instill at Madrid’s Real club.

One of the most striking examples is the attitude towards lateness. J. Mourinho has abandoned the previously applied relatively small fines for players who were late to training.
Now the consequences are directly related to the player’s participation in team activities.
Any player who is late is sent to the gym and cannot participate in the main team training. An additional punishment is missing the next team match.

“J. Mourinho abolished the 200 or 300 euro fines for being late to training because for people who earn millions, such fines seem ridiculous to him. The good old days are over,” explained J. F. Diaz.
The coach also changed the approach to the rehabilitation of injured players. From now on, players will no longer be able to decide independently where and when to continue the recovery process.
“The days when you could recover wherever you wanted after an injury are over,” said the journalist.
Nutrition is also being taken more seriously. Players will no longer be able to decide what to eat themselves – J. Mourinho demands adherence to the club’s nutrition specialists’ instructions.
“The days when the nutritionist was at the players’ service are over. Now it is the opposite. They no longer eat what they want, but what they are instructed to,” said J. F. Diaz.
So far, J. Mourinho’s methods in the Real Madrid locker room are being evaluated positively.

The team’s players believe in the coach’s demands and tactical ideas, and most of them try to give their maximum both in training and matches.
