The accommodation sector performed better than catering

According to him, there was no shortage of customers even on cooler days: “There is no bad weather at the seaside, there is bad clothing. You can find activities. If the weather is cooler, there are wonderful bike paths, nature, pine forests, SPA centers. Also, both we and other hotels have heated pools. So there are plenty of activities – both with children and without children.”
However, he admitted that the accommodation sector did better than catering.
“Hotels were 100% full, so we were satisfied. We had reservations from early spring. It was very difficult for people to find places to stay in the summer, and we had a lot of guests. We do not complain,” said H. Tautkus.

Asked if he faced cancellations of reservations, he replied that their reservation system does not encourage that. “In our hotels, when booking rooms in advance through Booking.com, you have to pay for the first night, so everyone comes, they do not want to lose money,” he explained.
According to the interlocutor, the catering sector also did not lack visitors. “Restaurants also did quite well. In Palanga, the restaurant is always full, even when the weather is not very good. This summer is better than the last one. Definitely,” he said.
