The total area of the new car park is 25 thousand square meters. It has 912 parking spaces, of which 96 are reserved for vehicles of people with individual needs. There are also 10 electric vehicle charging stations, with another 10 spaces planned for the future. With the opening of the new car park, the total number of parking spaces near the airport has increased to 2445 – about 60% more.

One of the highlights of the new facility is the panoramic view of the aircraft takeoff and landing runway from the top floor of the car park. This is the first such infrastructure space at Kaunas Airport, providing passengers, their companions, and aviation enthusiasts the opportunity to watch planes taking off and landing.
During the first seven months of this year, Kaunas Airport served 974 thousand passengers – almost 6% more than during the same period last year. Currently, 26 flight routes are offered from Kaunas to passengers.
“Kaunas Airport today is an important transport hub for the entire region, with rapidly growing passenger flows and number of flights, so we need to expand the infrastructure. The new car park not only helps solve the parking space issue and provides more convenience for passengers but also meets the needs of the personnel of aircraft maintenance and repair companies and partners operating at the airport,” says Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, acting head of Lithuanian Airports.

Lithuanian Airports’ investment in the new car park infrastructure amounted to 10 million euros. Construction work was carried out together with the company “KRS,” and the new car park operator is the company “Stova,” which manages the “Unipark” brand. A seven-year contract has been signed with this company.
The new car park features a digitized automatic license plate recognition system that reads the vehicle’s number upon entry and exit. Passengers are ensured very simple payment options – they can pay at self-service kiosks, via a mobile app, or by reserving a parking space online in advance.
The car park incorporates modern and durable infrastructure solutions: inter-floor waterproofing has been installed, stainless steel expansion joint profiles, and the ascent and descent ramps are shaped in an “S” trajectory to make moving between floors convenient and easy. Epoxy paint was chosen for marking parking spaces and traffic, ensuring greater surface durability.
