The Vilnius District Prosecutor’s Office has handed over the case to the court regarding crimes of anti-Semitic hate speech and public order violation
The prosecutor of the Vilnius District Prosecutor’s Office applied to the Vilnius City District Court with a motion to conclude the process by a criminal order, requesting to recognize the capital city resident G. Liutkevičius (born 1972) guilty of incitement against a group of people based on their Jewish ethnicity and religion (under Article 170, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code) and public order violation (under Article 284 of the Criminal Code).

- Active provocateur on social networks Gintaras Liutkevičius, calling himself Count Liutkevičius, published a scandalous video. It captures his confrontation with persons of Jewish origin.
- After this attack, the provocateur was detained in custody, an investigation was initiated, and now the results are being reported.
G. Liutkevičius is accused of, in July of this year, in a public place in Vilnius, acting aggressively and insolently, maliciously mocking without reason, approaching three persons of Jewish ethnicity temporarily visiting Lithuania, teachers of Judaism religion – rabbis, filming with a phone at the time, insulting them with his words and actions (spitting), mocking them and inciting hatred because of their Jewish ethnicity and Judaism religion.
With these actions, G. Liutkevičius demonstrated disrespect to others or the environment and disturbed public peace or order.
G. Liutkevičius is also accused of publicly sharing this filmed video with hate speech several times on his Facebook social network account, posting a challenge that incited hatred against people because of their Jewish ethnicity and Judaism religion, and also publicly posted an additional video attempting to justify his actions of hatred against persons of Jewish ethnicity and their religion.

All these publicly posted videos are incriminated to G. Liutkevičius as crimes of anti-Semitic hate speech.
The prosecutor of the Vilnius District Prosecutor’s Office asks the court to issue a criminal order recognizing G. Liutkevičius guilty of these crimes and to impose a restriction of liberty for 12 months, during which the accused is obliged to stay at his place of residence from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., start working or register with the Employment Service, perform 80 hours of unpaid work in social service institutions caring for elderly or other people in need of assistance, and participate in a behavior correction program.
G. Liutkevičius must also compensate for the non-material damage suffered by the victims.
