Latvian border guards turned back three migrants on Wednesday, while no attempts to illegally enter the country were recorded at the Polish border on Tuesday.

This year, a total of more than 1.2 thousand illegal migrants were not admitted to Lithuania. Last year, more than 1.6 thousand attempts were made to enter the country from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before last, this number reached 1002.
In total, since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25.8 thousand foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
