The leader of the Belgian national team, who moved this summer from London’s Arsenal to Beşiktaş for 18 million euros, was one of the standout players of the Istanbul team in last week’s first match against Kauno Žalgiris.
Beşiktaş won that encounter 3-0 and put one foot into the main stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Over the weekend, Beşiktaş unexpectedly lost 0-1 in the Turkish championship, and in that match, L. Trossard received a blow to the face from an opponent, who remained unpunished even after a VAR review, causing great outrage within the Beşiktaş club.
Among those arriving in Kaunas will also not be the newest signing of the Istanbul club – Ernest Poku, who transferred to Beşiktaş from Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the Turkish team, whose budget is about 350 million euros (including money allocated for player transfers), certainly will not lack stars.
Dušan Vlahović, Alexander Nübel, Orkun Kökçü, Kassoum Ouattara, and others will come to Kaunas.
We remind you that the return match between Kauno Žalgiris and Beşiktaş in the Europa League qualifying final will take place this Thursday at 8 p.m. in Kaunas.
