For a while, the Samogitians successfully stuck to the game plan and did not allow the opponents to create threatening situations. However, the first warning bell rang when, after a beautiful combination, Mato Vareika’s attempt was blocked by Marius Paukštė.
In the second half of the period, “Žalgiris” had two great chances to break through the opponent’s defense, which was coping without the injured Andre da Silva. Nikola Petković and Jurijus Kendyšas twice from good positions failed to direct the ball into the goal area.
