The national team is gathering for camp on Monday and starting preparations for the Baltic Cup tournament, and there has been another change in the lineup.
Rokas Lekiatas from “Kauno Žalgiris” will not participate in the camp, and for the first time, Vilnius district “TransInvest” defender Ričardas Šveikauskas has been invited to the national team.
We remind you that on June 6, the Lithuanian national team will meet the Latvian team in the Baltic Cup semifinal in Kaunas.
In the other semifinal, Estonia will host the Faroe Islands team. The final and the third-place match will be played on June 9.
If the Lithuanians have to play against the Estonian footballers, this match will take place away, and if the Lithuanians’ opponents become the Faroe Islands team, this duel will be played in Kaunas,
The second semifinal on June 6 in Estonia will start at 18:00.
The Lithuanian national team lineup includes many new or long-unseen faces. After a long break, Arvydas Novikovas, Ignas Plūkas, and Vaidas Magdušauskas return to the squad, and the first invitations were received by goalkeeper Arnas Voitinovičius and midfielder Domantas Šluta, who previously represented the U21 team, as well as Ignas Venckus and Edvinas Kloniūnas, who are having solid seasons.
The lineup will also include Slovenian champions Armandas Kučys and Artemijus Tutyškinas, Edgaras Utkus who finished the season in Saudi Arabia, and the team captain Justas Lasickas, as well as Žygimantas Baltrūnas and Lukas Michelbrinkas, who debuted in the previous window with the national team shirts.
However, we will not see the main goalkeeper Edvinas Gertmonas, who signed a contract with the legendary Swiss club “Servette”.
