Almost 10 percent of cigarettes in Poland are illegal

The National Tobacco Industry Association (KSPT) links the growth of smuggling to high excise taxes and says that such cigarettes push legally sold tobacco products out of the market and reduce state budget revenues.

According to KSPT, the volume of legal cigarette sales decreased by 13% last year, and by another 10% in the first seven months of this year.
